Meet Liverpool Old Road off A59 Near Lock Lane (Sat Nav PR4 6HS. Map Ref SD458183), ready for the usual start time of 10.30am.
We start on the towpath of the Rufford Branch of the Leeds-Liverpool Canal. When we reach Rufford Marina we leave the canal to cross the A59 and enter Meresands Wood where we will have lunch. We rejoin the canal at Spark Lane Bridge and return to Sollom along the towpath.
